NEXT STOP, THRIFT SHOP.

The best thrift store in the greater Vancouver area has to be Value Village. The prices are insanely good and product variety is out of this world. I moved to this City half a year ago and it was incredibly difficult arriving with the bare minimum of clothes. Discovering this shop has aided me in saving so much money on items that otherwise would have cost an arm and a leg. Every so often the store has a 50 percent off sale. Anything from pillows, blankets, kitchen and bathroom utensils, Halloween costumes, shoes and clothes can cost as low as 2 dollars. Truth being said, if you clicked into this post I can't imagine you want to hear about my spanking new (new second hand) whisk and yoga mat (still untouched). I have spent around 100 dollars on clothes, shoes and household items in this store. Sounds like a lot but in reality I have a new wardrobe, a home with all the fundamentals ( flamingo balloon, Christmas tree, Nicolas Cage sparkling pillow) and some good quality snowboard gear.

Th-rifting is basically an exciting treasure hunt. You may find a vintage Harley Davidson jacket or a book about knitting with dog hair.

Now this is going to take quite some time so I'll only show my favorite pieces!

This phenomenal red checkered skirt was all but 5 dollars (3.50 euro). Blue ribbons flow daintily down the rather long fit. Flowered patterns and tartan elements are scattered across the primary red material in square shapes. I wish I could make out the brand, however it's in Japanese and I can't find the make online! if anyone recognizes the design do let me know. I absolutely treasure this unique find. Punk rocker meets goat yodeler? Yes please! A modern day Maria Von Trapp aesthetic.

PINK Paradise

Skirt one is the first piece I bought in Vancouver ($4). Sadly there's no tag attached however it's certainly one of a kind. I adore mesh material and the pink tones and dainty patterns create a beautifully sweet hem. The pink leather skirt ($7) is edgy and bold. The brand is Linh. Now skirt No.3... How gorgeous is this salmon pink, velvet, fairyland skirt? This skirt also has no tag. Many items are one of a kind! For a mere $4 I couldn't resist. Velvet is also one of my favorite materials so it was a must!

Pink tutu prom dress (Jolie): $7
Red velvet mini: $7
Strawberry pink checkered dress: $10 (I think this might be a Halloween costume however I will be fixing it up and removing the white bib, and attaching the strawberry to the checkered pattern).

Black studded trousers : $4
Green winter coat (H&M): $10
Black tutu dress (Victoria Secret): $7
Strawberry corset: $4

I've been writing this post on and off for what seems like forever. I've bought many more pieces throughout the months, so perhaps I'll do another haul! It is frustrating how most items appear to have no tag on them. I would love to share my favorites with you all. Throughout my journey the past couple of months I've learned many things are replaceable. Perhaps a big clear out is just what you need in your wardrobe, you'll have more space and someone somewhere will be appreciative of the clothes you are letting go of.

Anyways, take care. x
